The Celebration of the feast of St. Moses the Black
By the grace of God, the monastery will celebrate the feast of St. Moses the Black on Saturday, June 30, and Sunday, July 1. On Saturday, the first Divine Liturgy will be from 6:00-8:00 a.m. followed by the second Divine Liturgy. Other Divine Liturgies will be held from 9:00-11:30 a.m. Glorification will be at 3:00 p.m., followed by Vespers and raising of incense.
On Sunday, the first Divine Liturgy will follow the Midnight Praises vigil and the second Divine
Liturgy will be from 9:00-11:30 a.m. May the blessing of St. Moses the Black be with us. Amen.
The Visit of H.G. Bishop Picenti
The Monastery has been blessed by the visit of H.G. Bishop Picenti on Tuesday, May 1 and he prayed the Divine Liturgy and sat in spiritual meetings with the congregation of the monastery. Also, His Grace looked over the projects in the monastery and the construction work of the new St. Moses' church.
Visitors
The monastery is open everyday to all visitors. For large groups that would like to spend the day at the monastery, please call (760) 257-1204 for us to accommodate for liturgy, meals and room for spiritual meetings. Due to limited accommodations, we require that all men who would like to retreat to the monastery (for maximum of 3 nights), please call (760) 257-1204 for reservations. Men coming on a retreat from far distances (states other than CA and AZ) may stay up to 14 nights in the monastery, with permission. All men coming on a retreat must bring a letter or note from their father of confession, requesting that they stay at the monastery for a few days. The monastery may accommodate for women and girls that would like to spend a few days, only on organized retreats with their parish priest.
