"The orientation of the monk is towards heaven, towards the life of another world. For this reason they are frequently referred to as 'earthly angels'; for while dwelling on earth they live as true citizens of heaven. To visit them is to visit the earthly paradise." (from the Sayings of the Desert Fathers)

Saint Antony Monastery provides a quiet place conducive to individuals, families, and groups wishing to spend a day of prayer, meditation and contemplation and recharge spiritually.

The Monastery is open everyday to all visitors.  For large groups that would like to spend the day at the monastery, please call Fr. Samaan at (760) 447-1879 for us to accommodate for liturgy, meals and room for spiritual meetings. Due to limited accommodations, we require that all men who would like to spend the night at the Monastery (for maximum of 3 nights) call (760) 447-1879 for reservations. Men coming on a retreat from far distances (states other than CA and AZ) may stay up to 14 nights in the Monastery, with prior approval. All men coming on a retreat must bring a letter or note from their father of confession, requesting that they stay at the Monastery.

We currently do not accommodate for women and girls that would like to spend the night at the Monastery. However, the recently acquired Byzantine Monastery located 15 minutes away is being turned into a retreat center for women, families and large groups who would like to spend a few days at the Monastery.God-willing, this should be completed in the near future.

Retreatants are to follow the set schedule and rules provided by the Monastery.
